My research focuses on the connectivity, water quality, and ecological dynamics of intermittent rivers and ephemeral streams(IRES), with a particular focus on differences in water quality in different river connection states, recognizing the important role of nature-based solutions(NBS) such as wetlands, ponds, and beaver dams in restoring and protecting water quality and aquatic ecology in hotspots. I am interested in the ecological and environmental functions of rivers and adjacent water bodies (macronutrient and carbon transport, transformation, ecosystem metabolism, etc.), especially the use of NBS to de-eutrophication and carbon sequestration to attenuate the impacts of extreme events and human activities on river systems.
