Our scientists had only five minutes each to present their new projects to the public. The Speed Talks that are held on a regular basis since 2015 serve several purposes: The presentations offer insights into new projects of other IGB departments and working groups. In addition, scientists are being trained in presenting their work and their ideas in a short and comprehensible way by adhering to the time limit. Afterwards, all colleagues are invited to join a 'networking coffee round' in order to exchange new ideas and to get connected with each other.
Today, the price for the best presentation has been awarded to Gabriel Singer, who presented his new ERC project 'Fluvial Meta-Ecosystem Functioning: Unravelling Regional Ecological Controls Behind Fluvial Carbon Fluxes (FLUFLUX)'. Thanks also to all the other speakers of today: Marisa Matranga (B.A.U.M.), Sami Domisch (AQUACROSS), Sven Würtz (IMPRESS) und Mark Gessner (BIBS)!
