Müggelsee

Lake Müggelsee

At Lake Müggelsee is one of the largest waterworks in Berlin. It draws its water to about two-thirds from Uferfiltrat. Therefore, it is important to keep the water quality in the lake within the limits. The sulfate concentrations in Lake Müggelsee were in the past time, below the drinking water limit. From 2014, the limit values were exceeded for the first time by the sulphate load from the opencast mining lakes. By means of water management in the catchment area, through distribution and dilution, the limit value for sulphate has been met again since August 2017 until today.
