A team of young scientists from different universities and research institutes in Germany conceptualized the conference I, Scientist with the intention to raise awareness of the still persisting inequality of women’s and men’s careers.
The three head topics of the event Gender, Career Paths and Networking will be discussed through panel session, workshops and different talks. The conference provides many opportunities for the participants to exchange experiences and socialize.
As one of the main initiators of the event , IGB PhD student Jenny Fabian (Department of Chemical Analytics and Biogeochemistry) wants to support and encourage women for a professional career in science.
The mission of the event:
- increase visibility of female role models
- raise awareness of unconscious biases
- introduce a variety of career options
- provide opportunities to network
