We are deeply saddened by the death of Professor Victoria Braithwaite, who was unable to assume the directorship of IGB which had been offered to her. The staff and management of the IGB commemorate her with great sadness. Those who had the privilege of interacting with Victoria were equally taken with her intellectual clarity, professional competency and human kindness. Her home institution has published an obituary that encapsulates her extraordinary personality. We will keep fond memories of her. Our sympathies go to her family.
