With the new workshop series IGB Academy, the institute expands its commitment to the knowledge transfer. The first event was devoted to combined aquaculture and vegetable farming. About 30 practitioners and specialists from horticulture, fish farming and plant engineering came together today at the IGB to find out about the results of aquaponics research. As a public research institute, the IGB seeks to provide objective advice to the practitioners. The IGB researchers showed the potentials of the technology as well as the obstacles and risks associated with aquaponic practice. In addition, the participants had the opportunity to exchange their own initial experiences and to network among themselves.
