The package is designed to be used with the Hydrography90m stream network and associated data which can be downloaded conveniently within hydrographr. The data can be also visualized at the IGB GeoNode.
hydrographr provides wrappers around the open-source geospatial GDAL/OGR, GRASS-GIS and pktools software in the Linux environment which enables a seamless integration of these tools. hydrographr depends on the Linux OS to allow fast and memory-efficient data processing workflows, which is essential when it comes to process the hydrographical data at a high spatial resolution of 90m.
Windows users need to first install the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). The installation is easy and does not take longer than 10-15min.
