Long Day of Urban Nature 2018

On 17 June 2018 IGB participates at the Berlin event  Langen Tag der StadtNatur 2018. IGB-scientists show a broad variety of their work:

  • Guided tours to the aquaria hall and the aquaponics system "Tomatofish" (every hour between 11:00 and 14:00)
  • Lakes in the change of the seasons: What do we know about Lake Müggelsee?  Short talk: 13:30  (Dr. Christof Engelhardt): "Lakes under ice"
  • Build a river: Natural rivers wind their way through the landscape, what happens if they are straightend?
  • "Urban Blue":  We want more nature in the city and to take into account people´s wishes for recreation.
  • Kids program: Giant fishing game

The event is rounded up by coffee, drinks and cakes from the bake sale of the Friedrichshagener Grundschule.
