InvasiBES aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the multi-faceted impacts of IAS on biodiversity and ecosystem services.

We have proudly hosted a number of researchers (interns, doctoral candidates, Postdocs) that came with their own funding. In the past we have hosted:

Effects of measures targeting reduction of nutrient intakes and changes in fish communities on re-establishment of charophyte meadows are tested over multiple years.

Connectivity and synchronisation of lake ecosystems in space and time

Food web dynamics and energy transport from phyto- to zooplankton under the influence of parasitic fungi.

A training network at the interface between the science and the policy of international biodiversity conservation.

Water and energy are crucial to sustainable development, both globally and within Germany. WANDEL focuses on the question of whether limited water availability restricts the use of conventional energy systems and thereby accelerates the energy transition, or whether it actually slows the transition down.

Eutrophication is a worldwide environmental problem accelerated by global warming, affecting the stability of aquatic ecosystems and having long-lasting consequences. In this project we investigate if and how eutrophication affects two interacting evolutionary processes: disease spread and interspecific hybridization.
