Sereina Rutschmann (a former PhD student at IGB) and Jens Kiesel (a postdoc in Sonja Jähnig’s research team) won the Schwörbel-Benndorf Young Talent Award of the German Limnological Society (DGL). Sereina Rutschmann received the award for her work on evolutionary processes in aquatic insects. Jens Kiesel won the award for developing a new approach for modelling macrozoobenthos communities. The awards were presented at the DGL conference in Essen on 24 September. Congrats!
