BR50 is the network of Berlin's non-university research institutions. Leibniz and Max Planck institutions, Helmholtz centers, and federal departmental research institutions are part of BR50, spanning all disciplines from social sciences and humanities, life sciences, natural sciences and technology and engineering.
Driven by excellent minds, non-university research institutions carry out outstanding work. BR50 seeks to exploit this potential for achieving more systematic cooperation, which may generate new research projects and leave its mark on key science policy in the region. BR50 functions as mouthpiece of Berlin's non-university research institutions in the direction of politics, society and industry, while at the same time acts as a central point of contact for issues relating to non-university research in Berlin.
