BeGenDiv

Berlin Center for Genomics in Biodiversity Research

Six research institutes and universities, including IGB, established the Berlin Center for Genomics in Biodiversity Research (BeGenDiv) in 2012, with the aim of jointly developing and applying genomics and bioinformatics methods for research on biodiversity. The Center aims to:

  • advance biodiversity science through research and education in genomics and bioinformatics,
  • serve as a forum for the exchange of new knowledge through seminars and an annual Genomics Symposium,
  • serve as a nucleus for collaborative research,
  • provide state-of-the-art facilities to all consortium members.

The BeGenDiv next-generation sequencing laboratories are located at the Botanical Museum in Berlin-Dahlem and computing infrastructure is integrated within Freie Universität Berlin through its high-performance computing partnership.
