RiverFilmFestival 2017

FlussFilmFest 2017

In collaboration with GRÜNE LIGA, GETIDOS and other partners, we would like to invite you to the second River Film Festival Berlin. Between January 22 and 24, the event takes place in the Moviemento Cinema in the Kreuzberg district. Additional elements of the Wild & Scenic festival program will be various river movies from Germany, Europe and other parts of the world. We take you on a journey to wild streams, isolated places, endangered animals and people who fight for the preservation of these precious habitats.

Matinee with film competition

As scientific partner, the IGB takes over the thematic introduction on Friday and the RiverScientistMatinee with an open discussion session on Saturday afternoon. Therefor we request videomakers, bands, artists and scientists to submit their water related movies at the RiverFilmCompetition. Short formats with a maximum length of 30 minutes can be sent as a video or link to ssi@igb-berlin.de by 31.12.2016. The winner videos will be shown on January 21 on cinema screen in the Moviemento.

Although the discussions are mainly in German, most of the films shown are in English.

Further information about the program, reservations and tickets/festival passes will follow soon.

About the Wild & Scenic Film Festival

Since 2003 the environmental association "South Yuba River Citizens League" organizes the "Wild & Scenic Film Festival" in Northern California. At the beginning of the year the festival will be on tour in about 140 locations in the USA and Canada. There the "Wild and Scenic Rivers" are under strict protection due to their wildlife species inventory, their scenic attractiveness and their importance for human recreation.
